How can I make my rank textures smaller without scaling issues?

Hey again Gem, what scaling issue are you referring to? Generally it's recommend for rank texture to be in increments of 9, this allows the best sizing when it comes to the chat.

Verum I want my prefixes to be smaller than the 9/7 size that the wiki says not to change, but when I try to change it I get scaling issues like certain pixels are off and some letters don't look right.

I want them to be 7/7, I like that size, but how can I do that? I have a pack that I bought and they are that size, and they don't seem to have any scaling issues, but the ones I made using the blank_red template don't work at that configuration without scaling issues.

thegemfitness I'm not a pack designer, and I'm not very familiar with image manipulation softwares like paint.net. How do I know how big to set the canvas to not have scaling issues? How do I correlate the size of the image to the scale?

Minecraft will always automatically scale the image to 9 pixels in height, as this is the chat height. Why it's recommend for this to be the default and to keep it in values of 9 to best scale the image without issues.

Why is the level pack fine though and when I change the staff prefixes to the same scaling I get scaling issues?
